San Onofre Nuclear Waste Dump
What the F*&K is going on at San Onofre !?!?!?
Problem: NUCLEAR WASTE is sitting at San Onofre right now. The plant has been shut down for a few years and there is nowhere to move the spent fuel. So, it will be stored there in metal casks, in a bunker 40 yards from the ocean unless something is done about it. The government is apathetic towards Southern California residents’ concerns about moving the waste away from San Onofre sooner rather than later.
Effect: Even if we ignore possible earthquakes, tsunamis, and terrorism. If we put aside potential health risks, environmental and recreational concerns, the financial risk remains. A radiation leak, unless it can be quickly and easily contained, would instantly deflate the local economy and decimate local real estate values.
We at Endemic Surfwhere? take this issue seriously. We all love the San Onofre and Trestles beaches and have spent countless days surfing and enjoying these beautiful coastal areas.
We would like to introduce you to a group called the
Global Environmental Legacy Foundation.
Global Environmental Legacy Foundation’s Solution: Form a group "The Voice of Reason" to advocate for legislation that results in moving NUCLEAR WASTE away from San Onofre sooner rather than later.
The San'O Awareness mission is to "Advocate for State & Federal Governments to request and fund technological, transportation, and alternate location projects that result in moving NUCLEAR WASTE away from San Onofre sooner rather than later."

If you have been to San Onofre or Trestles then you know how beautiful and precious these fragile areas are. We've fought and won to keep the toll road from destroying parts of Trestles. Now we need to fight to keep NUCLEAR WASTE from potentially destroying parts of SAN ONOFRE.
